NO FUTURE WITHOUT CULTURE!

This motto was adopted by the ACP Heads of State and Government at the 7th Summit held in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea in December 2012 to show their unwavering support for a sector that contributes to the wealth of ACP countries and to humanity in general. For several years now, the ACP Secretariat has made support for cultural sectors a major aspect of intra-ACP cooperation. ACPCultures+ is therefore the 4th programme implemented in the context of ACP-EU cooperation, which is constantly expanding and adapting to new challenges.

From 2012 to 2017, the ACPCultures+ Programme funded initiatives in approximately 60 ACP Member States,  implemented by more than 200 ACP and EU cultural operators. Using a partnership-based and inclusive approach, these projects gave priority to building and consolidating cultural and creative enterprises and industries in ACP countries.

We are particularly proud to present the results of the 54 projects, which have been compiled in a catalogue that provides insights into the impact, as well as the diversity of the activities carried out throughout ACP States and regions, ranging from choreography to audiovisual production, music, 3D animation, architecture, literature and other artistic endeavours.

These actions made a very tangible contribution to the creation of jobs (almost 4 000) and strengthened the capacities of operators (8 000 professionals trained). They also helped to substantially increase the supply of cultural goods and services with an output of no less than 1 000 products
