"A new generation of festivals is born"

Presentation of the study on the "Artistic, economic and social impacts of six ACP festivals" at the conference held on October 28 on ACP/EU cultural cooperation.

The study allowed for an analysis of artistic, economic and social benefits of 6 ACP festivals and measured the effects on the 

circulation and marketing of ACP works, promotion of cultural diversity, local economic and social development due to these 

events. The study also analysed the role and impact of these ACP festival as a showcase of ACP works and artists and springboard for young talents.

The six festivals analysed were: 

- Africa Fête festival (Senegal)

- Iles Courts-Festival, International short films (Mauritius)

- Market for African Performing Arts, MASA (Côte d’Ivoire)

- Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival (Trinidad and Tobago)

- Durban International Film Festival (South Africa) 

- Festival of Pacific Arts (touring festival, Guam)
