The Young Karl Marx is an international coproduction directed by Raoul Peck. Born in 1953, Raoul Peck is a Haitian filmmaker, of both documentary and feature films, and a political activist. Among his other creations, his feature film "Meurtre à Pacot" was made with the support of the ACPCultures+ Programme.

Velvet Film is a production company created by Raoul Peck in 1986. It is currently based in France, Haiti and in the USA and has produced awarded masterpieces such as I Am Not Your Negro (2016), The Young Karl Marx (2015), and Murder in Pacot (2013).
